Pigginton

In November 2019 I spent the day at Featherbank Primary School in Horsforth for our yearly Three Little Pigs day. Each child painted their pig and made a house for their them out of sticks, straw on bricks. We also built a narrative around our pig town where the children also made street lamps road markings and a post office. Through democratic vote we named the town Pigginton. This was done so the teacher could take the idea further into other topic work to help the children learn across the curriculum.

My personal favourite name was New Pork which I accompanied with a little song which Im sure you all know. Activities like this, enable children and adults to work in a playful, spontaneous way, bouncing ideas from each other to build a concept.
