Community Art Club
During the My World, My City, My Neighbourhood project in 2022 we held a community art club for a few sessions. it worked really well and I knew it was something to build upon.
I recently applied for funding from Leeds City Council for Community Art Clubs and Ive been successful in my proposal. This means I will be able to facilitate Community Art club in my local community once month for a year. I have also applied for corporate funding through the COOP and I will spend next year trying to get their membership to vote for Community Art Club in Garforth for 2026. IF you are a member click the link below and please vote.

These clubs will hopefully be held at the miners welfare hall in Garforth. Its important I try and hold them there because thats what the hall was built for all those years ago.
Community Art Clubs provide a place where individuals and families come together and develop their creative expression. People who attend will try new artistic techniques, experiment with different materials and learn new skills. As the club is open to the entire community, members encourage each other, share ideas and diversify their work through collaboration.
Each session provides members with access to materials for painting, printing, drawing and sculpture. There is always an opportunity for people to share their own personal narratives through their own artwork.
I will try to keep this blog updated with its progress through the year.
