My World, My City, My Neighbourhood - 2023

I’m really pleased to have been selected to work on the Leeds 2023 City of culture project My world, My City, My Neighbourhood project where I can work with my local community in ‘letting culture loose’ and celebrating what it means to come from Garforth. 

‘This project is for the people that make Leeds. It’s for the people that live and work here and are dedicated to the pure joy that goes into this place. This is a moment to celebrate all types of culture and all types of people that make up this wonderful city. We hope to create a significant project that connects Leeds to the people of Leeds so keep an eye out for more updates from the My World, My City, My Neighbourhood project.’

This project fits really well with what I’ve been trying to do with the arts network and it will help develop this effort further to support the wider community in a sprit of co-creation. I will be exploring what co-creation means in future posts and on my social media. Hopefully we will be able to hold a community event celebrating our culture in April 2022.
