John Jamiesons School

My most recent work was for a few weeks at John Jamiesons in Leeds. It is a Special School and National Teaching School which caters for pupils with a learning difficulties. I was going every week until the Coviod 19 outbreak but during my time there I was able to help the small class of 15 year olds develop an interest in a visual language and was working on a specialised art class where each person could develop ideas in their own chosen medium. For example two people showed interest in texture so we were developing their own work in that direction. On person liked Graphic Design and another like Photography. All this work was going to be used towards their arts mark scheme. I hope to pick this back up again when the school reopen and hopefully invite me back.

The first week I was there we explored internal and external space and looked at the work of Antony Gormley. It went so successfully that I want to enter it for the Royal Academies Young Artist Summer show which will now be digitised. Fingers crossed, it would be so rewarding for the kids to see their work here.
