Leeds United 100th Birthday Sculpture

I was invited to take the Rocket to Asquith Primary school to make a wire Leeds United logo. The children would then write the names of all the football players and insert them into the framework of the shield. This was part of the birthday celebrations and the school wanted to enter. I made the wire armature and a group of kids came through the studio to each have a go at weaving the wire through the framework. We also made card footballers using sharpie marker, tracing paper and card.

They also made a video to go with their submission. Well they won! A small group from the school go to join in the celebrations and put the LUFC shield we made into the clubs time capsule. The children got to meet some of their sporting heroes. Amazing!
