Penny’s Community Arts CIC Board Meeting

The full board met in July to discuss policies, procedures, funding and the general running of the CIC. We meet in the art caravan!

One of the main points of the meeting was assigning an asset lock for the CIC. Basically, this is when another Charity or Community Interest Company is assigned the assets, in the event of Penny’s Community Arts being dissolved. Having spoken to the governments CIC regulator, we have assigned Constructive Futures CIC as our asset lock. Natalie Sarabia-Johnson, who is on the board, also runs Constructive Futures CIC with Jenny Kitchen. Constructive Futures facilitates and supports young people in accessing the Construction Industry, through inclusive work experience.

We also discussed the importance of Safeguarding within our communities and how we can best support this within community art clubs. Everyone brings a wide variety of experience to the discussion of how we can maintain the mission of Pennys Community Arts.

We have another one booked for November.
