Broomfield Art Project
In June I worked at Broom Field, in Leeds. It was a whole school project where everyone contributed to making the letters of word Broomfield to be displayed in the school. It was a really hot and I sweated a lot!
I worked with each class, making marks and adapting things to the needs of the students. It required me to be very flexible as the students needs varied greatly.
This was also a project that required me to go to different sites ad Broomfield has multiple facilities. The first day I spent geli printing at the Future Step Hub in Morley. Then at Broomfield’s main site in south Leeds. I also went to Rodillian High School to work with the kids who attend there. We did many mark making techniques and I ended up with lots of pictures that were pulled together and turned into large letters.
I needed some studio time after the activity to pull it together. It was a really challenging but very rewarding activity and Im very proud of the kids for their efforts.
